It was an enjoyable day's competitive sailing on Sunday. It must have been the first true North Easter of the season although gusty and sometimes a little fickle it provided some close and tactical racing through out all the fleets.
Once again the turn out from the Opti’s and the 4.7’s did not disappoint and the racing was competitive, close and disciplined.
It was also wonderful to see the Navy turn out in large numbers again with some tight sailing amongst the Enterprises although in this fleet it is still very much a bump fest.
In the GP fleet two of the navy boats were very fast in the tricky conditions and it was a shame that there were only three CMYC GP’s to try to hunt them down.
The OOD did a fantastic job with great courses and disciplined starting which kept the fleets separated and the length of the course (around 40 mins) meant that the fleet did not separate too much.
We look forward to more of this competitive sailing. The Howell Cup being sailed for on the 28th January is a team racing competition between CMYC and RCYC. If you are interested in signing up for this then please let me know by email so that the CMYC can put a competitive team(s) together and have some practice sessions before the trophy day.

Well done to everyone who took part, the organisers “behind the scenes” and their supporters.
